With the transfer window now partially closed in the English Premier League, Daily Express reports that Manchester United could have sold three more players this summer.
The report reveal that had coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had his way, he would have readily signed out the trio of Matteo Darmian, Alexis Sanchez and Marcos Rojo this summer. But the Red Devils chief, Ed Woodward blocked the deals.
Woodward has been instrumental in Man Utd transfer dealing this season. After a poor campaign last season, the chief said no club would beat the Red Devils in terms of money to sign players this summer.
Man Utd made some impressive signings, with Harry Maguire for one costing them a whooping sum of £80 million, making him the most expensive defender in the world.
Sources close to the club disclosed that Woodward still nurses the grudge that Nani left the club for a paltry £5 million four years ago.
This has made him ask for a very high price this season for any of their players, which was evident in the case of Romelu Lukaku, who joined Inter Milan at £74 million, and it was exorbitant fee (£140m) that made Real Madrid drop interest in Paul Pogba as well.
With this, interested clubs must be ready to spend big if any of Sanchez, Darmian or Rojo must leave Old Trafford this summer.Loading.
